About Us
CIEnP is a Brazillian non-profit institution dedicated to provide non-clinical assays for evaluating efficacy and safety for the development of phamaceutical/cosmectis products. We are located in the innovative environment of the Sapiens Park, in the city of Florianopolis, State of Santa Catarina, Brazil. Sapiens Park comprehends an environment that offers infrastructure and dedicated space to host ventures, projects and other strategic innovative initiatives.
CIEnP has a building area of 5300 m2. (57,000 square feet), with 24 research labs containing modern equipment to carry out efficacy, DMPK and safety non-clinical studies and an area for the incubation of technology-based companies focused on human and animal health.

Team
Our CEO is the Brazilian researcher Dr. João B. Calixto. Calixto, a member of Brazilian Academy of Science, has received a number of prizes and honors and published more than 400 research papers in international indexed journals, generating over 12.000 citations. He is part of a number of international journals’ editorial boards, has more than 20 patents in Brazil and abroad and has actively participated in the development of 3 products already available in market. During the past 30 years Calixto worked in collaboration with most of the Brazilian pharmaceuticals companies developing new medicines.
CIEnP has a highly dedicated team of managers, experienced (Ph.D.) researchers and supportive staff for the development of non-clinical studies. Study Directors are involved in all critical phases of study design, conduct, and reporting. In many cases Study Directors personally perform observations and specialized procedures. We also have on our team veterinarians and certified veterinary pathologist consultants.
